The Riverhawks Fly In

The Johnstown Riverhawks came to visit the ACRP/St. Michael’s School students in March.  The Riverhawks football players came to speak with the students and answer questions about the team.   The students were interested in how long the players where on the team, what other career opportunities they were pursuing, and how they get ready for a game.  After talking with the students, the football players had the students show their best touchdown dance.  They enjoyed showing off their dancing skills along with creating new dances for the players.

Junior Achievement Arrives at ACRP/St. Michael’s School

Junior Achievement (JA) arrives at St. Michael’s for the school year.  JA is the successful bridge between education and business.  JA has a unique approach that integrates program materials, training, and support.  Sherri Slavick works at CTC as an Educational Technology Instructional Designer. She heard about the JA program from a co-worker and has been involved with the program for three years. She has been visiting St. Michael’s weekly for a semester.  Sherri enjoys helping the students and making a difference in their lives.  She discussed the economic difference between staying in school and dropping out.
